The Faces of Fashion: My Style Icons

From 1940 to 2017, preppy fashion never goes out of style. Some of my favorite looks are inspired by the queens of fashions below, long may they reign!

1) Audrey Hepburn

One of the major statements I love about Audrey's outfits are her gloves. Audrey paired classic fashions with complex accessories to enhance any look. Fun fact: Audrey was close friends with Hubert de Givenchy and he designed many of her iconic looks!

2) Anna Wintour

Anna Wintour, editor in chief of Vogue magazine, has been my style icon ever since I watched The Devil Wears Prada when I was 8 years old. Anna is a fashion trendsetter and shows to women throughout the world that fashion knows no age.

3) Blair Waldorf

She may be a fictional character, but Blair Waldorf's fashion sense is entirely authentic. Blair Waldorf is a confident teenager who rules over the Upper East Side with an iron fist. What I love most about Blair's fashion sense is her ability to make anything work. For example, colorful tights: who knew anyone could pull those off!

4) Jackie Kennedy

Jackie Kennedy has been an icon for all preps since the 1950's. Jackie was also a Lilly lover, and incorporated pearls and jack rogers into almost all her outfits!

Parisian meets Preppy... room tour style!

Hello everyone, In today's post, I've decided to give you all a taste of my natural habitat: my room! After nearly two years of brainstorming and planning, my room has finally come together. If I were to describe my room, I would most likely describe it as preppy x Parisian, and here's why:

1) I love the vintage chic Parisian style which is evident in my fashion, and room.

My Noona (grandma) found this bedding at  https://www.homedecoratingcompany.com/ and it is called the Thomasville Bouvier King Comforter Set. Everything about my bedding spoke to my when I first saw it.  From the classic scenes to the impeccable details, this bedding is my absolute favorite.

2) Not only does my room showcase vintage items, but I also included preppy items as well!

My diy lilly board is a staple piece within my room. In the midst of the blazing heat, my mom and I had a fun craft day during the summer, and my board was the end result. How we did it you might ask? We cut up old agenda prints and glued them to a 16x20 piece of thin wood, however, you could really use anything as the backing. Next, we borrowed some elbow grease from my dad and had him drill in 2 holes along the sides. Lastly, we looped a wire through the holes to act as a hanger, and covered it in ribbon and bows!

3) Even my storage is girly!

I found my "poofs" at Target. Originally, I had thought they were seats, however, once I peeked inside I realized I was quickly mistaken, they were storage unite! As a teenager, there's nothing better than a nifty place to hide your junk. Trust me when I say this: these poofs sure do fulfill that job! I mean, who would've thought that these small, girly circular objects could double as a place for hiding unwanted objects! Genius!

Hope you enjoyed!

My 2017 Resolution

It's safe to say that 2016 wasn't anyone's year...
To be honest, I don't even remember what my resolution was last year, which obviously implies that I didn't do it. This year, however, I plan to stick to my resolution.(no guarantees)  Over the past year, I've had an epiphany about myself: I talk myself out of potentially great opportunities.  For example, I talked myself out of going skiing because i'm afraid of heights. Looking back on my decision, I regret it. Therefore, my 2017 new years resolution is:

To Say 'Yes' More!

It's been scientifically proven that by saying yes, you have a more positive outlook on life. (and no, i'm not making that up!) Just so you believe me, I've linked websites that will prove my case.  I'm looking forward to the ambitious opportunities coming my way in 2017! Comment down below what your 2017 resolution was!
